How to Get the Most Out of Whitening Toothpaste

Posted .

Whitening toothpaste is a handy tool that can help you whiten your smile one or two shades. However, sometimes the results aren’t exactly what you’re looking for. So, our dentist, Dr. Greg Ortman, would like to help you achieve a brighter smile by giving you the tips on how to get the most out of your whitening toothpaste.

The first thing you should do is be patient. Whitening toothpaste doesn’t typically provide results for several weeks. So, keep using the paste and avoid doing things that can stain your chompers, like consume dark foods and drinks and use tobacco. Also, remember that because whitening toothpaste doesn’t actually change the color of your teeth, you can undo the results quickly.

The second thing you can do is brush your teeth and rinse your mouth after you consume something that can stain your chompers. Brushing and rinsing can remove those staining particles before they get a chance to undo your whitening progress and stain your chompers.
